Marshall Avenue Christian Church belongs to the Illinois/Wisconsin region of the Disciples of Christ. Within the region,
there are many opportunities for personal as well as church growth.
Camp Walter Scott, located in Dieterich, Illinois, is the Disciples of Christ campground. This area is used not only for
children and youth summer camp activities, but it is also a meeting place for adult gatherings.
Youth have the opportunity to attend a rally every January in the local cluster. Held on a Sunday after church services,
it includes fellowship time, snacks, games, and a youth-centered worship service.
Amongst the many activities throughout the year, there is also a three day event for youth in grades 6-12 held every
other year (during odd numbered years). This gathering is called Summit and gives youth the opportunity to learn new
ways to worship, respect each other, and grow in Christ.
Also held bi-anually, but in even years, is the Regional Assembly. This three day gathering is for adults and youth
alike. Regional business is conducted during this time, as well as times of fellowship and worship.
The General Assembly of the Disciples of Christ is a world-wide gathering of adults and youth that is held every 2
years (in odd numbered years). This 5 day event covers the business of the church as well as break-out sessions for
continuing your growth in faith.
